Bank launches annual pasta drive

Fifth Third Bank centers across Indiana are collecting pasta and donations for local food pantries as the bank pursues a goal of serving 1 million meals through its annual hunger initiative.

The Feeding Our Communities Greater Indiana Pasta Drive is collecting boxes of pasta through the month of April. Each pound of pasta or $1 donated will serve four people, with all proceeds primarily benefiting Second Helpings in Indianapolis, Tri-State Food Bank in Evansville and Community Harvest in Fort Wayne.

The local food drive is part of a larger hunger initiative across 12 states the bank has planned as part of its Fifth Third Day (May 3) event. The bank dedicates Fifth Third Day, May 3, to volunteerism through campaigns to fight hunger. In 2015, employees and customers provided 800,000 meals as part of the campaign. Customer and employees in Indiana provided more than 72,000 servings of pasta last year.

Pasta donations may be dropped off to any Fifth Third Bank location, including the Columbus branch at 2117 25th St.
