Letty L. Caldwell, 89, of Hope, died at 12:47 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2017, at Miller’s Merry Manor Nursing Home.

Letty was born in Bartholomew County December 24, 1927. She was the daughter of Harry N. and Josephine V. Nicholson Lewellen. She married Bill Caldwell December 12, 1948, in Sardinia. He preceded her in death July 24, 2014.

She was an active member of Memorial Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and was a member of Zelda Bate Circle. She was a former bookkeeper for Reeves Pulley Company and Trico Farm Supply Company.

She is survived by son, Thomas Dale Caldwell of Columbus; daughter, Barbara K. (Steve) Huffman of Columbus; grandchildren, Evan (Stacy) Huffman of Columbus, Derek Huffman of Columbus, Megan (Kevin) Bozell of Columbus, Matthew (Jessica) Caldwell of Kokomo and John Caldwell of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Lincoln Caldwell of Kokomo, Jacob and Nathan Huffman and Trenton and Hudson Bozell, all of Columbus; sister, Mary McClintic of Fairfield Glades, Tennessee; and brother, John Lewellen of Denver, Colorado.

She was preceded by her parents; husband; great-grandson, Reid Clayton Bozell; sister, Alice Whiteside; and two brothers, Billy Lee Lewellen and Marvin Lewellen.

Funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday at Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Tingle officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time Monday at the church. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Bear Creek Baptist Cemetery.
