Columbus North High School’s student newspaper, the Triangle, was presented the Impact Award by the Journalism Education Association, in recognition of a feature package on oral sex which JEA said was “responsibly written from a standpoint of concern and was not vulgar or lurid.”

Emily Keller, a three-sport senior and gymnastics champion at Columbus East High School, was named top female student/athlete in America by ESPN’s Scholastic Sports America, a television show devoted to high school athletes.

Plans to expand athletic and civic facilities at Donner Center, ranging from $1 million to $4 million, were presented to city officials.
