Glenn Day

North Vernon

Glenn W. Day, 83, of North Vernon, died at 8:15 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Jennings Health Care Center in North Vernon.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1953 – 1955.

He is survived by his sons, Sam Day and Brad (Teresa) Day both of North Vernon; daughters, Charlene (George, Jr.) Yeager of North Vernon and Donna (Dave) Crossman of Seymour; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his his wife, Mary Ella Bland; a son, Jeffrey Allen Day; a brother, Harold Kenneth “Skip” Day; and a sister, Ruth Durham.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, with the Rev. Connie Barr officiating. Family and Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. on Friday at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon with members of Matt Hester Post #2021 providing military graveside rites.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to National Kidney Foundation or Our Hospice of Jennings County.
