Columbus teenager Katie Seger was recognized in USA Weekend Magazine’s “Make a Difference Day” issue for her efforts to raise money to help victims of Hurricane Katrina. She raised more than $1,000 by selling hots dogs, brats and baked goods in front of a local store and donating the money to The Salvation Army.

Bartholomew County Hospital announced its Health Check ‘91 event at FairOaks Mall would feature a public workout session led by celebrity fitness personality Richard Simmons.

Drilling equipment was moved onto the western section of Columbus Municipal Airport at Walesboro by Pittsburgh Testing Laboratories to determine the feasibility of establishing an industrial park there.
