Hauser girls third

EDINBURGH — Hauser’s girls finished third, and the boys took fifth in the Edinburgh Lancer Relays.

North Decatur won the girls meet with 102 points to 86 for Southwestern (Shelby) and 77 for the Jets. South Decatur and Southwestern tied for the boys title with 118 points.

Grace Hasler led the Hauser girls by winning the 100-meter hurdles in 16.7 seconds and running on three winning relay teams. She joined Brea Metz, Haley Embry and Makenzie Ault in the 4×100 (54.5); Naomi Gollmer, Mackenzie Young and Erin Newcomb in the 4×400 (4:51) and Embry, Ault and Metz in the sprint medley (2:02.4).

Metz and Newcomb combined to win the high jump at 9 feet, 8 inches.

The top finishes for the Jet boys were thirds from Pete Trotter and Braden Lock in both the shot put (73-5) and discus (217-6).

BOYS LACROSSE

East routs Southport

Four players combined to score 18 goals to lead Columbus East to an 18-3 win against Southport.

Cody Blackburn scored six goals, while Luke Fry added five, Kyle Grimm had four and Cameron Nelson notched three. Conner Blackburn recorded five assists, while John Menefee had two and Grimm, Samm Hack, and Cody Blackburn all added one.

Rick Wooton posted five saves, and Holden Warren had four saves.
