Charles N. Lininger, 86, of Columbus, formerly of Melvern, Kansas, died at 4:35 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Kindred Transitional Care & Rehabilitation of Columbus.
Mr. Lininger was born Oct. 21, 1929, in Lyndon, Kansas, to Charles and Esther Odor Lininger.
He worked in construction and enjoyed making furniture and gardening.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary (Frank) Burton of Columbus; sons, Robert (Teresa) Abbott of Kansas City, Missouri, and Doug Lininger of Columbus; 12 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Lininger was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred; a daughter, Esther Handley; sons, Charles N. and Buddy Ray Lininger; a sister, Evelyn Lawhorn; and his parents.
In keeping with Mr. Lininger’s wishes, cremation is planned. There will be no service.
