Tom Pickett, Emma Peters, Sandi Smith and Jim and Mary Dietz were chosen by Mayor Fred Armstrong as winners of the Mayor’s Art Awards during the annual unCommon Cause gala.

1991

An estimated 2,000 people stepped off from Columbus North High School’s football-track stadium for the annual 6-mile March of Dimes WalkAmerica, the first year the walk went downtown instead of to the city airport.

1966

Bartholomew Consolidated School Board did an about face and voted against putting a basement under the new gym facilities being built at Columbus High School when costs skyrocketed from $30,000 to $70,000.
