Columbus Indiana Philharmonic music director David Bowden lauds Benjamin Hoffman, his concertmaster, for playing with a special passion. Bowden, known for breaking into a humming song melody in the middle of a conversation, is a good one to notice. Comic Dave Dugan’s dry wit and trademark bass voice have been a part of the Columbus comedy scene since the late 1980s at the original Commons, where he was among those who could attract crowds of nearly 400 people per show.
