Don’t miss last chance to vote early

Voters concerned about possibly facing long lines Tuesday have until noon today to cast an early ballot at the Bartholomew County Courthouse, 234 Washington St.

During the 2012 presidential primary, a number of Bartholomew County polling places reported waiting in line as long as two hours.

While a large number of residents took advantage of three satellite locations for early voting last week, a heavy election day turnout is still anticipated, county officials said. Those satellite locations are not accepting voters today.

Although voting centers debuted during last year’s municipal election, this is the first time those residing outside of Columbus will use the new system that allows residents to cast ballots at any one of 18 locations across Bartholomew County.

Primary voting will be 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday. Registered voter must provide an Indiana state government-issued or federal government issued photo ID before casting a ballot.
