Time to give back

As some people’s thoughts turn to planting seeds for flowers this month, you could plant a few seeds of another kind — those of kindness and compassion to help others by volunteering. Here are a few possibilities to soften the good soil of your heart. Far more options appear on Page BXXX.

2 HOURS

A good time for running mates: Organizers of the Foundation For Youth 5K need volunteer running buddies and for registration and pre-race activities for the upcoming event May 21. Time commitment: Two to four hours. Information: Juliana@foundationforyouth.com, 812-348-4558, ext. 207.

3 HOURS

Help them stay on a roll: Columbus Bike Co-Op seeks 12 volunteers of all skill levels, including bike mechanics, to help Earn-a-Bike participants build and repair bikes. 4 HOURS

Help them to a brighter day: Love Chapel Brighter Day housing facility needs volunteers to supervise residents living at the soon-to-be completed local facility. Staff will be accompanying volunteers. Shifts are four hours long and are available any time of the day and week. Time: Minimum of four hours per month.
