Students honored for academy acceptance

Rhett Myers and Nicholas Andrie, both seniors at Columbus East High School, were among the seven students honored by Congressman Luke Messer for being nominated and accepted into United States service academies.

“All of our inspiring Hoosier teens headed to America’s Service Academies are our next generation of leaders, and I am proud of their commitment to our country,” said Congressman Luke Messer.

Summer preschool programs offered

First Presbyterian Preschool, 512 Seventh St. in Columbus, is having summer programs for students who will have completed 3s, Young 4s or pre-K. The programs are:

•June 6 to 9, Amazing America

•June 13 to 16, Water Works

•June 20 to 23, Rumble in the Jungle

Classes are 8:30 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday. Cost is $65 per week. Children must be fully potty-trained; no diapers or pull-ups.
