AUGUSTA, Maine — A Maine woman accused of sexually abusing a 14-year-old boy has been ordered to undergo a mental examination.

The Kennebec Journal reports ( ) a judge issued the order to 36-year-old Loni Ingalls of Augusta on Tuesday. She’s charged with sexual abuse of a minor and possession of hydrocodone.

Authorities say the abuse occurred in Ingalls’ apartment. Police say the offenses were reported by the boy’s mother. Ingalls is also accused of selling drugs to two people under the age of 18, one of whom authorities say is the victim.

Ingalls is being held in lieu of $3,000 bail. She appeared in court with defense attorney Stephen Bourget.

She’s due back in court on May 19.
