Dickie Joe “Dick” Judge, 86, of Columbus, died unexpectedly at 1:10 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016, in the Emergency Department of Columbus Regional Hospital.

Born July 20, 1929, in Urbana, Illinois, Dick was the son of Hassell and Frieda Sullivan Judge. He grew up in the Fairland, Indiana, area graduating from Fairland High School in 1947 and later moving to Columbus.

Over his lifetime in Columbus, Dick was very active in the Moose Lodge, the Elks Lodge, the Eagles Lodge, the Masonic Lodge and American Legion Post 24. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and owned and operated Dick Judge’s Custom Flooring for many years.

Surviving Dick is his companion, Glenna Malone; his daughter, Lisa (John) Reames of Greenwood; his son, Robin (Cindy) Judge of Lafayette; his sister, Nancy (Dean) Lucas of Butlerville; his grandchildren, Abigail Reames of Indianapolis, Amelia Reames of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Malorie (Randall) Ackerman of Columbus, Brittany and Samantha Judge of Lafayette; and great-grandchildren, Jaedyn Green and Easton Ackerman of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and brothers and sisters.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2016, at Hathaway-Myers Chapel, 1022 Pearl St., Columbus, with Pastor Dave Schreiber officiating. Entombment with rites by Bartholomew County Honor Guard will follow in Garland Brook Mausoleum. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
