GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — The Riverfront Trail I Grand Junction has been closed in some sections due to a Colorado River that is running higher and faster than normal for this time of year.
The Daily Sentinel reports (http://bit.ly/1WE9cJN ) that rainy weather in western Colorado has increased river levels, which are already expected to grow in coming weeks as snow in the mountains melts with higher temperatures. As such, two sections of the Grand Junction trail have been closed due to flooding.
Officials say there is no timeline for reopening the trails and that they will remain closed until the river levels drop.
