James “Stumpy” M. McInteer, 61, of Columbus, died at 4:39 p.m., Friday, May 20, 2016, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Mr. McInteer was born in Bartholomew County, Indiana, April 1, 1955, to the late Herschel and Dorothy Pattingill McInteer.
Survivors include his sons, Michael (Jamie) McInteer of Wellington, Kansas, Terry McInteer of Columbus, Indiana; stepsons, Jeremy (Robin) Ogle, James Ogle both of Columbus, Indiana; 14 grandchildren; brothers, Sam (Patty) McInteer of Columbus, Indiana, and Tom McInteer of Brown County, Indiana; sisters, Carolyn (John) Baldwin of Columbus, Indiana, Debbie (Doug) Hatcher of North Vernon, Indiana, and Betty (Bill) Rutan of Columbus, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
Stumpy was preceded in death by brothers, Kenny McInteer and Ron Estes; and sister, Donna Gephart.
The funeral service will be conducted at 12 p.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home, Washington Street, with Pastor Adam Carrigan officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery.
