Larry W. Greathouse, 72, of Columbus, passed from this life at 2:35 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation in Greenwood.

Mr. Greathouse retired from Cummins Engine Company in 1996.

He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of the VFW  Columbus Moose Lodge and the Columbus Eagles.

A memorial service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 27,  at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike with Chaplain Tony Schommer officiating.

Family and friends may call from 5 p.m. to time of service.

Military honors will be presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.

In keeping with Mr. Greathouse’s wishes, cremation was planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Mr. Greathouse was born January 28, 1944, in Peoria, Illinois, the son of William C. and Ethel I. Burger Greathouse.

Survivors include his daughter, Robin (Jim) McGraw of Greenwood; a stepdaughter, Lori (Greg) Gay of Lawrence, Indiana; his twin brother, Gary Greathouse of Columbus; another brother, Danny (Wanda) Greathouse of Bloomington; a sister, Connie (Joe) Woodhouse of Greenwood; and his grandchildren, Erica, Emily and Lyndie McGraw.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Nancy Roberts.
