Pierre G. “Pete” Lamborn, 87, of Columbus, died at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2016, at Four Seasons Health Care Center.

Pete was born Dec. 3, 1928, in Springfield, Ohio, the son of Lester P. and Katherine Jones Lamborn. He married Betty Prizeman Jan. 9, 1953, in New Castle, Indiana, and she survives.

He served in the U.S. Navy on the aircraft carrier USS Princeton. He was retired from Cummins Engine Company where he was a manufacturing engineer. While at Cummins, he enjoyed working with the delegation from China. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Springfield, Ohio. He loved to bird watch, work in his yard and garden. He enjoyed reading history.

He is survived by his wife, Betty P. Lamborn of Columbus; daughter, Katherine (Robert Kaser) Lamborn of Walkerton, Indiana; sons, Pierre G. Lamborn II and Barry S. Lamborn both of Columbus; grandchildren, Marguerite and Carolynda Lamborn of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Robert and James Lamborn.

Funeral service is at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Four Seasons Retirement Center Chapel with Chaplin Phyllis Hawkins officiating. Calling will be from 9:30 a.m. to service time. Burial with military honors will be by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard will be in Garland Brook Cemetery.
