Gail Grammer

Columbus

If you are reading this, I am on my endless journey. I am in my Father’s House.

Hi. My name is Louise “Gail” Grammer. God brought me into this world on Aug. 25, 1954, to two awesome parents, Charles A. and Nellie Grammer. I have a twin brother, Louis “Dale” (Cindy) Grammer. I am the younger twin, so I kicked him out. I am also survived by big brother, Charles Ray (Linda) Grammer; little brother, Terry Lee (Susan) Grammer; and a little sister, Eva “Sue” (Frank) Cole.

Anything I did, it was by God’s Grace. I graduated in 1972 from Columbus North High School, I then graduated from the University of Indianapolis with a degree in Liberal Arts, and later I graduated from Vincennes University with an Audio Visual Degree. While there, I was on the Dean’s List. I worked at the Commons Mall in 1976, recorded surgeries at both Columbus Regional Hospital and University of Louisville Hospital, worked for Grammer Landscape Maintenance and worked as a caregiver for DSI. I have been a Sunday School teacher for several churches, and I participated on the Walk to Emmaus #21.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Elizabethtown United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry McIntosh and the Rev. Charles Agnew officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will be at Sandcreek Azalia Friends Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice of charities through the funeral home.

Additional survivors include nieces and nephews, Trina Marie Boatright, Chris Grammer, Tammy (Mark) Ashcroft, Stormy (Mike) Wilson, Kirby (KB) Hearne, Stacie (Nathan) Larrison, Tom (Ashley) Grammer, Beth Dunn, Shellie (Ryan) Huff, Jeremy (Savannah) Cole; great-nieces and great-nephews, Josh Knight, Sierra, Shelby and Austin Grammer, John and James Boatright, Mark Jr., Wayne, Devin, Anthony, Savanah and Andrew Ashcroft, Mazey Wilson, Elliott Larrison, Charlie, Harry and Gwynneth Grammer, Bella, Daisy and Joseph Dunn; Paisley Mae Grammer; and a great-niece on the way who’s middle name shall be Louise.

Gail is also survived by her cats, Shade and Sadie Sue.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles A. and Nellie M. Long Grammer; and a nephew, Charles Ralph Grammer.

Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.

You are invited to view her video tribute after 4 p.m. Wednesday, light a virtual candle and send a message to the family via the internet.

“In life we make a living with what we get; we make a life with what we give,” Gail Grammer.

“I have Fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have kept the faith,” from II Timothy 4:7.
