North grad finishes 22nd at national championships

Rose-Hulman freshman Debie Gedeon finished 22nd in the women’s 100-meter hurdles at last week’s NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Wartburg College.

The Columbus North graduate finished in 15.43 seconds. That was a little off the school record time of 14.46 she ran early in the season.

Gedeon, who also plays basketball for the Engineers, became just the second female athlete in school history to qualify for the national championships. She also was just one of two freshman to qualify for the Division III national championships in the 100 hurdles.
