2 church break-ins reported in past week

JENNINGS COUNTY — Two church break-ins reported in the past week are being investigated by the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department.

Bear Creek Baptist Church, 3945 W. County Road 1000N, reported that someone broke into the church May 28 and took earphones used to assist people in listening to the service.

Graham Baptist Church, 2645 S. County Road 600E, reported May 29 that doors were damaged by people trying to get in. After the individuals got into the church, it appeared nothing was taken, deputies said.

Jennings County Sheriff Gary Driver is asking residents to report any suspicious activity at any church after hours by calling 911.

Anyone with information about either of the two Jennings County church burglaries, or anyone who witnesses suspicious activity around a church after hours should call 911 or call dispatch at 812-346-4911.
