Senior project highlights international adoption

A presentation and panel discussion on international adoption will be conducted at 6 p.m. July 27 at Columbus City Hall, 123 Washington St.

The event is part of the Columbus North High School senior project of Charlotte Verbanic, an international adoptee.

Guest speaker will be Inna Pecar from Kids First Adoption Services in Indianapolis. She will address details of the international adoption process. A video on international adoption also will be shown.

“I chose this project primarily because of my personal connection to it,” Verbanic said, adding a note about the severe need for adoptive parents of children in Poland, Bulgaria, the Ukraine, and other nations. “The need for these children to find forever homes is so urgent. The latter reason is why I find the project so interesting, and there is most certainly a story to be told.”

Russian treats will be served at the gathering.
