A movie rooted in a strong message

A feel-good flick with a message rooted in being true to oneself — and starring Tera Smith of Columbus — is slated for a showing at 7 p.m. June 29 at YES Cinema in downtown Columbus. “Wig’d Out” is a movie about a feisty teenage girl who overcomes the high school stereotypes and enters a beauty pageant simply to please her mom. She ends up being the real winner when she reveals that she has alopecia, an autoimmune disease that can cause baldness, and lets everyone know that it’s OK to be yourself.
