A fireworks store on Second Street was closed by the state fire marshal for stockpiling 4,000 pounds of fireworks, eight times the legal limit of pyrotechnics.


The city of Columbus and Mayor Robert Stewart were named winners of a 1991 Outstanding Achievement City Livability Award by Waste Management of North America Inc. and the U.S. Conference of Mayors.


Fleetguard Division of Cummins Engine Co. donated $14,000 to the new Lutheran Home to be built in Seymour.
