William Hawk, 92, of Indianapolis, died June 17, 2016, at his home.

Mr. Hawk was born Sept. 29, 1923, in Columbus, to Virgil and Lola Angel Hawk. He married Betty Jeanne Wilson Sept. 5, 1942.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was a Greyhound Bus driver, retiring after 38 years of service. After retirement, he enjoyed driving charter buses.

He had a passion for vintage cars, racing, wildlife and driving.

Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Betty Jeanne Hawk; daughter, Sharon Hawk of Indianapolis; grandson, Sean (Courtney) Hawk of Indianapolis; a sister, Lorna Huston of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hawk was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Morris and Virgil Hawk Jr.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Virgil Clotfelter officiating. Family and friends may call from 5­ to 7 p.m. Monday and from noon until service time Tuesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Military honors will be presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
