Auction to help boy with disease

The D&D Auction Co., 1350 Jackson St., is hosting an auction at 6 p.m. Saturday to benefit Dakota Blair, an 8-year-old Nashville resident who has been diagnosed with mitochondrial disease with cerebral palsy and developmental delays.

Dakota and his guardian, Annette Kimberlin, are preparing to travel to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, where he will undergo testing, be fitted with leg casts for five weeks and have a feeding tube placed inside his body. The proceeds from Saturday’s auction will help pay for the family’s medical bills as they travel between Cincinnati and Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Kimberlin said.

The auction will feature merchandise from stores, restaurants and hotels in Columbus and Nashville.

Donations still are being accepted for the auction. Interested donors can call Kimberlin at 812-341-1304 for more information.
