Volunteers pitch in during United Way Day of Caring

Volunteers are working throughout the Bartholomew County community today during the United Way Day of Caring. Last year’s event saw more than 500 volunteers complete 50 community service projects. Previous projects have included painting, landscaping and organizing for local nonprofit organizations, cleaning up local public spaces and interior and exterior home renovations for residents with disabilities and other needs.

Some of this year’s projects include:

  • Ramps to Freedom, with volunteers building accessibility ramps.
  • Painting at Columbus Childcare Center
  • Enrichment programming at DSI, 2920 10th St.
  • Neighborhood revitalization in Elizabethtown.
