Evelyn C. Andrews, 93, of Columbus, passed from this life at 3:24 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Silver Oaks Health Campus.

Born in Bartholomew County, three miles west of Columbus on Feb. 3, 1923, Mrs. Andrews was the daughter of Henry L. and Emma Armuth Loesch. She graduated from St. Peter’s grade school in 1937 and Columbus High School in 1941. She worked for Noblitt Sparks, Inc. after high school and during World War II. She married Thomas H. Andrews on June 15, 1946, upon his return from the war and subsequently became a homemaker. Mr. Andrews preceded her in death May 9, 2015. Mrs. Andrews was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, a member of Friendly Neighbors’ Home Economics Club, and a member of the Democrat Ladies League of Bartholomew County.

Survivors include her son, Gary S. (Markel) Andrews of Hope; her daughter, Brenda Sullivan of Columbus; and grandchildren, Steve Andrews of Hope, Scott C. (Dawn) Andrews, Kylie (Broc) Schneider all of Columbus and Nea (Chad Morgan) Sullivan of Longmont, Colorado. In addition, Evelyn Andrews was blessed with the following great‐grandchildren: Luke, Brady and Krue Schneider, Ella Morgan and Kate, Brenna and Maggie Andrews, along with step-great‐grandsons, Larry and Luke Thompson.

In addition to her husband, Thomas, Mrs. Andrews was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lawrence Loesch; and her sister, Maxine Loesch.

The funeral will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Mark Teike officiating. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. to time of service at the church. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
