Alice K. (Gramke) Kuhlman, 92, of Woodcrest Drive, Columbus, Indiana, formerly of Indianapolis, died at 8:23 a.m. Sunday, June 26, 2016, at Silver Oaks Health Campus in Columbus.

Alice was born July 14, 1923, in Quincy, Ilinois, the daughter of Andrew Gramke and Rose (Welsh) Gramke. She married Roger J. Kuhlman November 25, 1944.

Alice retired after working at Danner’s in Indianapolis for many years. She enjoyed her family, crosswords, bingo, scratch-off tickets, and garage sales.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Patricia K. Carteaux (Jerry D. Thompson) of Columbus, Indiana; son, Richard R. (Dianne) Kuhlman of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren, Jason (Angie) Hertenstein, Christina Stone, Jennifer (Michael) Morris, Michelle (Ross) Pfeifer and Rebecca Kuhlman, all of Indianapolis, Steven (Andrea) Hertenstein of Alexandria, Virginia, and Katherine (Charles) Braidich of Columbus, Indiana; and great-grandchildren, Jameson, Myles, Taia, Owen and Maxine Hertenstein, Bailey and Corbin Hertenstein, Zoey and Jacob Morris, Declan and Fletcher Braidich, and Natalie Pfeifer.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Roger J. Kuhlman; brother, Leo (Eva) Gramke; sister, Mary Catherine Gramke; and son-in-law, Larry J. Carteaux.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Services are private and entrusted to Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel.
