Thomas Allen Lyon, 88, of San Francisco, died at home on June 22, 2016.
Tom grew up in Arkansas and was a proud alumnus of the University of Arkansas as well as the University of Chicago. He worked for Cummins Engine Company for more than 30 years, retiring as the owner of Cummins West in San Francisco. After retiring, Tom was a devoted volunteer at St. Dominic’s School and more recently for Hospice by the Bay.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Augusta Rose Lyon; two daughters, Mary Kay (John Tannebring) and Barbara (Ian Fryer); as well as four grandchildren, Paula, George, Tom and Andrew.
Friends are invited to the Memorial Mass at St. Dominic’s Church, 2390 Bush Street, San Francisco, on July 1, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. A reception will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice by the Bay of San Francisco or to the Lima Center at St. Dominic’s Church are welcome.
