On the money: Bike ride supports financial literacy
The early registration deadline for the Centra Foundation Smart Money Family Fun Bike Ride is coming up. The ride, which offers opportunities for families to learn about money and how to save, begins with registration check-in and activity stations at 8:15 a.m. Aug. 6. Bike routes open at 9, starting and finishing at the Columbus Municipal Airport.
The early registration prices through July 16 are $5 for children ages 4 to 18 and $25 for adults.
After July 16 prices increase to $10 for children and $35 for adults.
The main 14-mile route follows the People Trail through the Columbus park system, and there is a shorter 5-mile route for young riders and walkers. Prizes include a $100 gift certificate in each age category. Proceeds from the ride support and expand financial literacy programs the foundation provides to local schools.
