Blue Blazers win summer broomball title
Blue Blazers beat White Lightening 7-4 on Tuesday to capture the Columbus Broomball summer session championship.
Ben Eckhart and Shawn Bauman each scored two goals for the top-seeded Blazers, while Matt Street, Dave Dickinson and Yuri Montamedi all added one.
Tyler Houchin netted two goals, and Brent Gordon had the other for the second-seeded Lightening.
White Lightening reached the finals with a 3-2 win against the No. 3-seeded Red Raiders. Becca Reutell netted two goals, and Scott Herron had the other for the Lightening. Ricky Hooton and Tom Kubat scored for the Raiders.
Street finished as the leading scorer for the summer session with 13 goals. Eckhart was second with 10, while Herron and Houchin tied for third with seven apiece.
