Virgie C. Edwards, 98, of Columbus, passed from this life at 2:23 p.m. Sunday, July 3, 2016, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Virgie retired from the Columbus Regional Hospital and was a member of Parkside Baptist Church.
Mrs. Edwards was born in Larue County, Kentucky, Sept. 6, 1917. She was the daughter of Jessie I. and Naomi Pickrell Hutcherson.
She married, John R. Miller in 1935. He preceded her in death in 1998.
She later married, Henry L. Edwards in 1999. He preceded her in death in 2004.
Survivors include her son, Thomas E. Miller of Columbus; grandchildren, Tammy (Tracey) Meek, James Miller Jr. and Tommy Miller Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Teah (Cameron) Hardwick, Eric (Brooke) McClintic and Ryan Meek.
The funeral will be conducted at 5 p.m. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Dr. William E. Bailey officiating. Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. to time of service.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. (Central Time) Friday at Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery in Horse Cave, Kentucky, with the Rev. Kevin Denton officiating.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; a brother, Eldred Hutcherson; and a son, James L. Miller.
