Dwight David Rose, 61, of Columbus, Indiana, passed away at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at his home.

Dwight was born March 19, 1955, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Harold B. and Rose M. Mullins Rose. He married Janet R. Steffey Rose on May 28, 1977.

Dwight graduated from Trotwood Madison High School in Trotwood, Ohio. He was a member of The Heart of Christ Ministries and was employed at Columbus Container for 20 years, serving as a supervisor. Dwight was a U.S. Navy veteran, proudly serving his country for 13 years.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Pastor Larry Duncan, Pastor Tim Larrison and Pastor Steve O’Connell officiating. Military honors will be presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2016, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service.

Survivors include his wife, Janet R. Steffey Rose of Columbus; son, Matthew Rose of Columbus; daughters, Amanda Rose and Nicki (Jason) Hawley both of Columbus and Tara (Jay) Jordan of Brookville, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harold (Vivian) Rose of Brookville, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold B. and Rose M. Mullins Rose.
