Eddie Eugene Hibbs, 62, of North Vernon, passed away at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at his home.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2016, at Trinity Full Gospel Church in North Vernon. The Rev. Robert Johnson and the Rev. Terry Branum will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2016, at Sawyer‐Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery in Edinburgh.

Born Oct. 18, 1953, in Kansas City, Kansas, Eddie was the son of John and Theresa (Burrow) Hibbs. He married Nancy Burton, and she preceded him in death July 3, 2006.

Eddie worked as a truck driver for Best Way Disposal and was a member of Hope House of Prayer. He enjoyed bowling, softball, hunting and fishing with his best friend, Kenny Poole; and especially babysitting his great‐grandson, Ryker.

Survivors include a daughter, Wendy (Charles) McDowell of Salem, Iowa; fiancé, Dawn Reeves of North Vernon; her children, Kristy (Lonny) Burton of Columbus, Sara Beth Hibbs and Jordan Arnholt of Taylorsville, and Bobbie Sue Reeves of Madison; a son, James (Shauna) Hibbs of Elizabethtown; brother, John Lee Hibbs Jr. of North Vernon; nine grandchildren, Shayla Hibbs, Holden McDowell, Baylen, Haley and Dakota Burton, Zoey and Conor Pickett‐Hibbs, and Dyllon and Keegan Clement; and great‐grandchild, Ryker Lee Burton.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nancy; son, Shane Alan Hibbs; two brothers, Jimmy and Keith Hibbs; sister, Leanne Zolton; and best friend, Gary Lucas.
