The Indiana Department of Transportation will close State Road 9 north of Hope on Monday for bridge work.
The work will be on a three-span structure over Haw Creek, about 6 miles north of State Road 46. E&B Paving is the state’s contractor for a $179,500 bridge preservation project which involves a three-week closure.
The contractor will make repairs and patches before replacing the existing bridge deck with a new concrete overlay. The posted detour will take motorists around the closing via State Road 252, I-65, U.S. 31 and 25th Street.
The traffic count for the bridge area is 3,910 vehicles per day, INDOT representatives said.
