Pamela Sue Dwenger, 63, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2016, in Terre Haute, after a long struggle with ALS.

Pamela was born on July 22, 1952, in Columbus, the daughter of Ralph and Mary Lou Dwenger.

She is survived by her mother, and three children, Brian Heaton (Quincy) of Anderson, South Carolina, Brent Heaton of Terre Haute and Barbara Hendrix (Dustin) of Jacksonville, Florida. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Braeden, Aubree and Kyle Heaton and Keagan, Emily, Ava and Olivia Hendrix. She has four surviving siblings, Wendy Baldwin (Randolph) of Peru, Randall Dwenger (Steve Callahan) of Salisbury, Connecticut, Rick Dwenger (Martha) of Columbus and Ron Dwenger of Franklin.

She was predeceased by her father and an infant brother, Gregory.

Pamela graduated from Indiana State University in 1989 with a degree in Management Information Systems, and subsequently worked at Indiana State for 30 years, retiring in 2010 due to her illness. She is a member of St. Joseph’s University Parish. She was a co-founder of the Wabash Valley Girls Softball League.

She moved to Jacksonville after her retirement but returned to Terre Haute in 2012 to be with her many cherished friends and to be closer to her family.

A funeral mass was held Saturday, July 2, at St. Joseph’s University Parish.

In lieu of flowers, Pamela requested donations be made to the ALS Association for research.
