Carolyn Moore Scobee Janes, 83, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away into the loving arms of Jesus on March 22, 2017. She was born Feb. 16, 1934, in Shelbyville, Kentucky, to Grace Watkins and James Henry Moore.

A Columbus resident from 1976–1992, she earned her associate’s degree in accounting in 1987 from Ivy Tech in Columbus. Returning to Louisville in 1992 to be near family, she retired from the payroll department of University of Louisville in 2005. She was a lifelong UK fan. She considered her special achievements being a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law and friend. She was a lifelong Baptist and faithful member of Southeast Christian Church since 2000.

She was widowed by her first husband, Frank Scobee Jr., in 1956. Also predeceasing her are her second husband, Bill Janes; sisters, Laurence Drescher, Mary Frazier and Kaye Moore; brothers, Robert Moore, Gene Moore and the Rev. James Moore.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Jennifer Ludwick (Brad), Tim Janes (Jenny) of Louisville and Kari Drinnon (Allen) of Seymour; six grandchildren, Garrett Drinnon (Teage), Andrew Drinnon (Alex Harsha), Ali Ludwick Martino (Anthony), Alden Ludwick, Michael and Kevin Janes; two great-grandchildren, Owen Cayot and Beckett Drinnon; and numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, in Middletown, and 10 to 11a.m. Saturday, March 25 in the Fireside Room at Southeast Christian Church. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 25 at Southeast Christian Church Chapel, 920 Blankenbaker Parkway, with burial to follow at Grove Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville, Kentucky.
