Martha C. Deckard, 88, of Columbus, died peacefully Sunday, July 10, 2016, surrounded by her family, at Willow Crossing Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Deckard was a devout Christian her entire life. Sewing and gardening were just a few of her hobbies. She spent her life enjoying time with her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Trips to Florida also had a special place in her heart.
Martha was born in Bedford, Indiana, September 29, 1927, to the late Cecil and Altha Ross Axsom.
Survivors include her daughter, Lana Aills, and granddaughters, April Aills and Rachel (Melinda) Aills, all of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Taylor Aills and Draven Gray; sister, Jean Kelley; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2016, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Jonathan Moore Pike with Pastor Tim Streeval officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2016, and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
