Tevin Michael Bode, 22, of Monrovia, suddenly and unexpectedly passed from this life on Sunday, July 10, 2016, due to injuries sustained from an automobile accident in Mooresville. He was born on August 26, 1993, in Columbus, Indiana, to Jeff Bode and Dorothy (Moon) Meeks.

Tevin attended Jennings County High School in North Vernon and Mount Vernon High School in Fortville. In October of 2015, he bravely enlisted in the Army National Guard where he was actively serving an eight-year obligation. Tevin completed Basic and AIT on May 13, 2016, at Fort Benning in Georgia.

In addition to being a proud and dedicated soldier, he worked for his family at Elite Towing in Monrovia. He was a member of the Miata Club and enjoyed hunting, playing “World of Warcraft” and spending time with family and friends. A kind, goofy and generous young man, he was known to make people laugh. Full of inspiration, he was an encouraeger and always lifted the spirits and energy of everyone in his presence. Although his time on earth was brief, Tevin’s positive and determined drive will respectfully remain in the hearts of all that were blessed to know him.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Ruthie Jean Malone.

Survivors include his mother, Dorothy Meeks (husband, Jeff) of Monrovia; father, Jeff Bode (wife, Addie) of Butlerville; siblings, Westin and Kiarra Wright of Monrovia, Mia Bode of Butlerville and Kasara Krumme of North Vernon; paternal grandparents, Larry and Sue Coy of Greensburg; special cousin, Tori Fife of Columbus; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Friends and family will gather for visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 15, 2016, at Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2016, at the funeral home. Pastor Keenan Steinway will officiate and military honors will be conducted at the conclusion of services. Cremation will follow the service with arrangements entrusted to Light Memorial & Funeral Chapel in Monrovia. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mooresville Honor Guard, 411 S.
