Helen E. Forst, 92, of Columbus, Indiana, formerly of Fort Wayne, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at Silver Oaks Health Campus. Helen was born June 8, 1924, in Huntington, Indiana, to the late Raymond C. and Blanche V. (Albert) Forst. She was a medical technologist for the Duemling Clinic Laboratory in Fort Wayne for 40 years, retiring as manager in 1988, and had been a volunteer for Mathew 25 and Allen County SPCA. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years, and later was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne.
Surviving are nieces, Reverend Barbara Grace of Evans, Georgia, Cynthia Yenowine (Robert) Hendershot of Columbus, Indiana, and Karen Shlater of Huntington, Indiana; nephew, Kent Forst of Huntington, Indiana; and several great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Irene E. Forst Conrad and Mary Lou Forst Yenowine; brother, Albert Forst; and niece, Donna Yenowine Stevens.
Services will be at noon Monday, July 18, 2016, with visitation two hours prior to the service, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are to Calvary United Methodist Church or Allen County (Indiana) SPCA.
Burial will be in Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Fort Wayne.
