Jeffrey A. Williams, 51, of Columbus, passed from this life at 7:18 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2016, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
Jeff was born Sept. 20, 1964, in Greenfield, Indiana, to Marvin G. and Sue Ann Teeguarden Williams. He married Lisa Corson Oct. 24, 1992.
Jeff was a 1982 graduate of Columbus North High School and received a law enforcement degree from Vincennes University in 1985.
With community service being very important to Jeff, he was an Advanced EMT for the former Athens Ambulance Service and served Bartholomew County Law Enforcement with the Bartholomew County Sheriffs Department and the Columbus Police Department for 20 years.
Jeff was a youth sports coach for many years and participated in the PAL Program. A baseball enthusiast, Jeff was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa; children, Jared Williams of Columbus, Joshua Williams of Detroit, Joel Williams of Columbus and Jayla Williams of Columbus; his former wife, Michelle Loesch Williams of Columbus; a brother, Mark Williams of Columbus; and nieces and nephews, Lauren Lafferty and Caitlyn, Courtney and Carson Williams all of Columbus.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Lester and Ferne Williams.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clifty with Pastor Douglas Bauman officiating.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clifty.
