Protect yourself; Harrison College offering free self-defense classes

Harrison College, which has a campus at the Columbus Learning Center, will offer free self-defense training at all of its campuses in September.

Each campus is partnering with a local law enforcement agency to provide the training free to participants.

In Columbus, the self-defense courses will be offered at 10 a.m. Sept. 1, 5:30 p.m. Sept. 8 and 1 p.m. Sept. 9.

Harrison College is also collecting cellphones to be donated to a local domestic violence shelter to assist individuals in need.

Used cellphones may be dropped off at any campus now through Aug. 31.

Donors are asked to perform a complete reset on the device being donated to erase stored information.
