Christopher Keith Cvelbar, 45, of Greenwood, died Sunday, July 17, 2016, at at his home.

Christopher was born June 27, 1971, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, the son of David A. and Ernestine Miles Cvelbar.

Christopher was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served in Afghanistan as part of the special forces that were first into Tora Bora.

He worked as circulation director for several newspapers. Christopher was a devoted father and son who loved spending time with his children.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2016, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. John Sichting officiating. Calling will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Charlestown Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans through the funeral home.

Survivors include his parents; sons, Conner T. Cvelbar and Harrison Yeagy, both of Greenwood; daughters, Carolyn J. Cvelbar and Christina K. Cvelbar, both of Greenwood; brother, Scott E. (Mary) Cvelbar of Valparaiso, Indiana; and several aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his uncles, James Miles and Terry Scott.
