Russell Ray Bair, 81, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away on July 18, 2016, in Phoenix. He was born in Hanover, Indiana, February 26, 1935, to the late Orville and Frances (Gammon) Bair.
He attended Saluda High School, graduating in the class of 1954. After high school he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served our country for four years.
Russell worked as a diesel mechanic for numerous years. On May 29, 1959, he married Helen Arney in Columbus, Indiana. To this union were born three children. Russell and Helen lived in Columbus until moving to Phoenix in 1970.
Russell is survived by his loving spouse of 57 years, Helen; two children, Paul Lee Bair and Tina (Guy) Swisher; a brother, Donald Bair; two granddaughters, Caitlyn Swisher and Tiffany Hickman; two great-grandchildren, Emily and Gerard; and many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Dale Ray Bair in 2010.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2016, at Resthaven Memorial Park, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85301.
