Police search for missing Columbus woman

Columbus police are looking for a missing 33-year-old Columbus woman who had reportedly been wandering the city attempting to get rides by jumping into vehicles.

Nicolle R. Olmstead, described as a white female with reddish/brown hair and green eyes, was last seen in Columbus on July 1 near the intersection of Eighth and California streets, police said.

She is about 5 foot, 8 inches tall and weighs approximately 150 pounds, police said.

Prior to her disappearance, Olmstead had been recently released from the Bartholomew County Jail on a charge of obstructing traffic after she was accused of attempting to get into people’s vehicles, police said.

Police believe the woman may have been seen in the North Vernon area sometime around July 18.

Anyone with information in regards to Olmstead’s whereabouts is urged to contact Detective LaShawn Tyler at 812-376-2661.
