Columbus City Council approved annexation of 25 acres of a proposed 100-acre subdivision, Wildflower Estates, north of County Road 200S between Cross Creek and Terrace Woods subdivisions.

For the first time in 40 years, races for mayor and clerk-treasurer were to be uncontested in November after the filing deadline passed and no one stepped forward to challenge Mayor Robert Stewart and Clerk Treasurer Jeanne Carteaux for third terms.

For the first time, Columbus City Council agreed to sell water to Southwest Bartholomew Water Corp. for use by rural customers west of town.
