Columbus Transit moved the location of the transfer station at Columbus Center shopping mall to the nearby Target store after New Plan Excel Realty of New York, the new owner of Columbus Center, requested the buses not stop there any longer.

1991

A greenish cloud that police speculated might have been tear gas crept across the Mineral Springs neighborhood south of Columbus, prompting some to evacuate the area but causing no confirmed injuries.

Because distribution of state tax money was based on population, Mayor Eret Kline requested Columbus City Council approve money for a special census to prove the city had grown from 20,782 to 27,000 people since the census in 1960.
