Lienhoop named to advisory commission

Columbus Mayor Jim Lienhoop has been appointed to the Indiana Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations.

Brian Bosma, Speaker of the Indiana House of Representatives, made the appointment. Lienhoop is one of three mayors serving on the commission representing municipal, township and county government.

The commission is made up of members of the Indiana General Assembly and city, township and county government officials.

Lienhoop said the role of the commission is to provide effective communication about the effect of laws that the state legislature passes, and the effect of those laws. The commission provides a venue for government officials to provide feedback to lawmakers about implementation of laws and their effect on communities.
