James W. Harris, 68, of Columbus, died at 2:55 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mr. Harris is survived by his mother, Helena Foree Harris of Louisville, Kentucky; his wife, Elizabeth F. Moore Harris of Columbus; children, Teresa Sizemore of Columbus, Naomi (Darryl Lowery) Harris of Columbus and James (Terry Baker) Moore of Columbus; sisters, Laura (Gus) Prentice of Louisville and Vickie Harris of Louisville; brothers, Ernest Harris of Indiana and Luke Harris of Kentucky; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Harris was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Ann Smith.
A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in Section 91 at Garland Brook Cemetery, with Pastor Gus Prentice officiating. Calling will be from 11 a.m. until noon Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Harris family through the funeral home.
